actually that color WAS available on at least a few select superdutys .....i saw one (think it was an 11 model) on the upper deck at cowboys stadium.....it was a Dallas Cowboys special edition or something....and it had graphite colored leather as well which was never a factory option i was aware of......

although when i ordered my 12, i asked about it just to see what it was all about.......my dealership didnt have any info but said they had seen one as well.....i never looked into it any further as i fell in love with the super cool glitter effect of the tux black metallic.....even though i swore off ever owning another black vehicle after my 02 f150....but they are soooo nice when clean......for all of 10min out here in west texas....LOL

Here's our new set-up;

http://i1246.photobucket.com/albums/...pscef89238.jpg

That's at the dealer's lot last Saturday. No pics yet with 'er hooked up here at home because the weather's been too stinkin bad to even do a shake down yet.

(sigh) decent weather this weekend but more *cold* weather headed in so not worth un-winterizing for just an overnight local trip and DH had to work 1/2 day yesterday.

grrrrrrrrr

She's ready when we are though!

DH fell in love with the tuxedo black on his truck as well. He didn't have black in mind at all until he saw that truck in the sunshine.

glitters like diamonds, but yet isn't garish or blingy

Requires lots of baths though.

... I imagine that color was Dark Blue Pearl Metallic and available on the 2011 & 2012 Super Duty's .... it just isn't the same a True Blue Metallic. True Blue Metallic is darker than Dark Blue Pearl Metallic and the current Blue Jeans Metallic is even lighter than Dark Blue Pearl Metallic. The "special edition" you saw may very well have been custom painted True Blue Metallic though.

Finally had a chance to pull heavy with the new truck. Considerably better than the 6.4 in lots of ways, but the engine brake on the 6.4 was better. All in all, a great weekend.

You don'tmean awd.all the.time do you? You have to shift Iit into 4wd? Reason I ask is because I had a awd suv and the towing was limited because of that feature.

The 2002 Denali had an AWD option. So it most likely is full time AWD....

If it is AWD I would take a close look at the towing specifications in the owners manual. The AWD vehicle I had 50% less towing capacity than a similar vehicle that did not have AWD.

Actually I do mean AWD all of the time. Based on what I have read it is a 62 rear and 38 front bias until slip is recognized and then moves power as needed. No controls for changing driving conditions from 2wd to 4wd...I would have thought it might limit towing capability as well but it does not....
