Looking a the photo it's not hooked up....so, I'd say that's a true statement.

Nice looking truck. I bet that'll really be nice to tow with.

Ha ha, you caught me. I still got to redo the hitch. I think I'm going to have to completely flip the hitch and remove a few washers.

Tell me if I'm wrong, but I keep thinking the WDH will be just for sway control at this point. 1 ton truck pulling a 6100lb trailer. Lol

When I recently went to a 3/4, I had drop the ball down on as far as it would go on the shank. I then forgot to remove a washer, so out of laziness I just lowered the L brackets.

C'mon. Plenty warm today. Night time still cold though.
You should have plenty opportunity this weekend. High 70s by Monday.

Ok so first pic is what got us into all this. 2004 F-150 and 2011 Rockwood 2604. Upgraded to the 2015 F-350 last year and then picked up the 2017 Columbus 320rs yesterday. This will be our setup for a long time.

Wicked1 - I got the Andersen Ultimate Aluminum hitch. Wanted to be able to remove it easy by myself at the campground. Weights about 35 pounds and can be removed or installed in about 5 minutes.

Fireman1317 - Been a great path. Really like the room of the 5th wheel. Only pulled it home about 20 miles so far but feels nicer to pull than the TT was.

I don't have equipment like that or room for it. At 35 pounds I just lift it out and set it where ever I want. I do think those are great hitches and all. I just wanted lighter and something I can do by myself quickly and easily.

Wicked, I went to redo my WDH tonight and learned a couple things that you may run into as well. My original shank is 2". New truck has a 2 1/2" receiver. Bought reducer sleeve from Tractor Supply, but it's a big pain in the a$# to get all the holes lined up. Also, I need a longer hitch pin. Also, I flipped my shank and lowered the ball as far down as it will go and I'm pretty sure I still don't have enough drop.

Looked in my RV Wholesalers catalogue and saw they carry an Equalizer 2 1/2" shank with I think a 12" drop. Only $200 Any one else run into this situation? Is buying a new shank the best way to go?

I bought an adapter and welded it to the 2 inch shank. That took out the slop between the shank and the adapter. Also keeps the holes lined up.

On my F350 I have the multiple adapters from the factory in the receiver and longer pin. I have the Anderson WDH but I think I will be ok going to the bottom holes in the 4" shank but only rough guessed with a tape measure this week I am going to redo the whole thing and see where I am at.

One thing I did realize as you did, add on parts like if I had to get a new shank for mine is $159.00, I have my old Camco EZ-Lift but I am not going back to bars and Sway Bar type control.... Next week will tell all, going to a fifth wheel at end of 2017 season but I need to come up with a solution for this year and 2017.

Good Luck
