Post Your 1/2 Ton's Specs

Oldest truck here

1999 Chevy Silverado 1500 ext cab short box. 4x4, Z71, 5.3L with roadmaster active suspension assist kit.

GVWR - 6400 lb

FAWR - 3925

RAWR - 3750


The manual says max towing is 7500 lbs. Max hitch with WD is 1000. Not sure what the GCWR is as the truck might be to old for that spec. The max standard payload is 1700.

My post and specs. were for my 2014 Silverado. I traded to a 2016 over the week-end and updated my signature. The post shows the new truck with the old specs. Updated are:


2016 Silverado Z71, double cab 4x4, 3.42, 6 speed auto, 5.3L, Max. Trailer weight: 9,200; Max. payload: 1,787.

Nice, a little less trailer rating but otherwise seems to have stayed the same.

looks like the tow rating drop for chevy's went across the board. nothing less, though, nice selection on the new ride. congrats!!
