I think that combined cargo means passengers and cargo combined.

1500 Weight-Distributing 544 kg (1,200 lb)

And that matches the sticker on the hitch, and that matches what GM engineering told me in regard to a 2013 Silverado, when I contacted them due to a different spec on the hitch vs. the owner's manual.

SPECS:
  • 5.3L V8
  • 6-Spd Trans
  • 4-Door Crew Cab
  • Overall length: 230.03
  • Wheelbase: 143.5
  • Axle: 3.42
  • GCWR: 15000 lbs.
  • GAWR for front and rear axles: 3900 lbs.
  • max. towing weight rating: 9200 lbs
  • max. payload rating: 1662 lbs
Oh, don't worry, there's quite allot to confuse people. The 500 lbs thing isn't in any literature that comes with your truck, and it isn't stamped or stickered either. Then again, I don't think that a GCWR is anywhere either.

Rear - 2423

GAWR:

Don't have our trailer yet. We are looking for a lightweight Toy Hauler to haul my 550 lb motorcycle. I'd like a Wolf Pup but she wants something a tad bigger. This forum is helping a LOT with my research.
