Power steps for GMC or Chevy 2500HD

Does any body have any experience with the AMP Power Step? How high off of the ground are they? Do they work as advertise? Etc.

How far from the ground to the step (in inches) is it? My wife is only 5' 1" and getting into the truck would be a problem if it's too high off the ground. We're thinking about buying a truck so this is an issue we have to resolve.

I would have to measure it. I have oversize tires on my 2500hd so my measurements wont be the same. I don't think your wife will have any issues with this application. It sits lower to the ground than most of the tube type steps. I highly recommend it.

If you can measure and dropping a line I'd really appreciate it. I'm having a difficult time finding the actual measurements.

I am a member of that site also. Like wingriders says lots of good info there.

Only issue you may have to deal with is how to deal with the location of the def tank. you can read about that there too.

Had them in my toyota since march of 2010, perfect for my wife and young son. I loved the look of the toyota without running boards.

Have the Amp steps on my 2012 GMC 2500HD 4X4 crew cab. They are half way between ground and floor boards. Very helpful and would buy again.

As for the deft tank, the steps are no problem. They are designed for it.
Just be sure to order the right ones.

Send a message via ICQ to Cover Dog
Quite pricey but my wife loves them. When lowered they stick out farther than a regular Running board. They are my favorite ad on.

they are the bees knees unless you get a ton of ice caked up on the front of em then they can get stuck...

i never had issue but ive heard it happens...

also they sell a 2" extension for tall/lifted trucks or if you just want it to come down further...

they come down pretty far stock....about 3" more than a standard running board
