Primus brake controller

I just purchased a used truck to tow with. It has a Primus (not Primus IQ) brake controller installed. Are they good or should I look at purchasing a different controller?

I'm going to be pulling at 2017 Roo 233s.

I wouldn't use any controller that wasn't a Prodigy.
Best BC for the price.
Overwhelming majority of RVers use the Prodigy.

That brake controller is your run of the mill controller and will probably work fine. I would try it out and see how it performs.
But if you're looking for adjustability, what I install for people and also use in my Yukon is the Tekonsha 90195 P3 Electronic Brake Control. Not only is it adjustable for output power but you can change the settings for how aggressive it applies the trailer brakes. It will also flash a warning to tell you if the trailer becomes unplugged or open circuit for the brakes. It can also display battery volts and has selectable illumination colors.
With over 1,000 reviews and a 5 star rating says alot.
