Pro pride & Tekonsha?

I have a Pro Pride 3P hitch & I want to upgrade to a Prodigy P3 brake Controller. Will I open up a wormhole to a parallel universe? Or, is my original Prodigy ok?

thats a pretty pricey hitch at $2,300

I would think your original prodigy would be ok but I am no expert in brake controller's

I run a Prodigy on my Mini Lite and havent had any issues with it yet

I didn't see much reason to upgrade either. The nice little display seems to be more for giggles.
The hitch was pricey...didn't pay near that for it though. It Does lock the TT in behind me though.

I've got the Prodigy P3 because my old BC went away when we sold that truck.

I believe the Prodigy line offers the exact same proportional control. That would be the only thing for your to double-check.

Otherwise, its as stated - just a few more bells and whistles. Although, I do have to say the diagnostics could prove useful if I was having a problem.

I have a P3, works great.

I wouldn't swap out from a prodigy for it if the one I had was working fine.

Well, I probably would; but I like gadgets sooooo....

You can compare features here:

What I understood when I bought mine is the P3 is essentially the guts of the P2 plus added goodies and a more user friendly interface.

I know... I like gadgets too! But, I will stick with the P until it blows up!

I have the pro pride hitch as well. Started with the p2, then moved up to the p3, now using the direclink brake controller. I like the p3 because the buttons vs the wheel knob. Not much difference in performance between the 2. But I do really love the direclink brake controller. I felt it worked better than the p2 or p3.
