Pro Series fifth wheel hitch

I have a bumper pull and I am moving up to a fifth wheel. The dealer is going to install a Pro Series 16,000 lb. fifth wheel hitch. Has anyone had this hitch? Is it a noisy hitch? I read one sreview that says the hitch feel like you are being pushed/ pulled. Any info will be appreciated

The 16K pro series has a latch bar, and can be a bit noisy and jolting. the 20K pro series has regular jaws, and does not cost a whole lot more.

That is what we initially had when we traded up to a 5er. Since then, the dealer traded me for a Reese 30051 Select Series 16K and it has the jaws rather than the bar to capture the pin. Night and day difference to me.

I have the 26k hitch and have had no problems with noise. So far it seems like a good hitch. I have towed about 5000 miles on mine in less then a year.

Thanks for the input. I just learned that the Pro Series has replaced the 16k slide bar with the double locking jaws like the larger unit. The dealer will install the newer hitch. I will see how it goes.

I wonder if they have a retro fit to update to the new style?

I am not sure if the old hitch can be adapted to the new. Then again, I am new to the 5th wheel and have no experience with the hitch. I found out the new hitch was available by calling the mfg. 1-800/632-3290. They can probably tell you.
