Prodigy Brake Controller and American Tow Dolly?

We have a towing dolly on order from American Tow Dolly, to haul a 2001 Prius or 1994 Grand Cherokee, and are considering a Prodigy brake controller. American Tow looked like the only one rated to carry the Jeep.

Being total newbies, we have to ask if anyone has tried this combination, and how well does it or should it work?

The motor home is a 2006 SunSeeker 3100SS. We're considering "drydocking" it with the dealer to have the controller installed. Should we have the controller installed ahead of time?
