Nice truck. You're every day mileage will be better (15-16). Towing will be about the same. (From my experience)

Great looking truck, imho Ford has the best looking truck on the road. Enjoy and don't cramp up from smiling to much when you drive it off the lot :-)

Very nice truck!
I have black carpet in my F250, what a pain to keep clean. If I had kids at home I'd have to replace it with tan.

I have a 2006 F350 DRW King Ranch with stock tune engine. Gets 17 empty and 14 towing the 5th wheel. I keep reading that the new trucks with DPF get worse mileage as they need to burn extra fuel to regen the DPF. And you have the extra expense of diesel exhaust fluid. But hey, the black smoke police are happy.
Now granted the 6.0 engine has it's issues and lots of them. But it's very well documented what one has to do to fix those. I love those new Fords but don't drive enough to wear out my current King Ranch. Enjoy your new one!

My hope is that my mileage will improve from the numbers I've been seeing with my 6.4. I'm also looking forward to doing some towing over the Labor Day weekend.

Nice...though I'm a Duramax/Allison junkie, I've always drooled over the ford truck interiors....enjoy

Sweet ride! Enjoy that new truck! It looks like my Expedition's bigger, badder cousin, LOL (we also have the black on gold trim exterior)

Nice, congratulations. Your towing mpg might increase some, but probably not much. I'm getting a coupe of extra mpg towing my 5th wheel. But my everyday driving is about 3 - 4 mpg better. And highway, empty, is even better still. I've gotten close to 23mpg on my two trips between Houston and San Antonio.
But the real improvement will be that engine. It is a true pleasure to pull my 5th wheel with the new engine. What I've said before, and what others have said will hold true. The first time you pull with it, you'll see what we're talking about.
Keep us informed as you get it and hook up the first time.

Change of plans. After posting this last night I was surfing the net and found an identically equipped truck, same color, discounted $12.500 in Houston. A much better deal than I was getting in Austin. So currently I'm sitting with my DW in the Mack Haik Ford showroom watching "Ellen", while they prep the truck and fill her up. Can't wait to get behind the wheel! Thanks for all the comments!

Woo Hoo! Welcome to Houston. I see a lot of Mac Haik trucks around here, that's for sure. I think mine may have come from his dealership, but I'm not sure. It was transferred to my dealer, and he wouldn't tell me the dealer name. Was afraid I might jump ship and go there.
Anyway, congrats, and enjoy it! Let us know when you get home if that "perma-grin" is still on your face!

Hey Perma-grin,
I do envy you, everything I hear 'bout that 6.7 is positive. Thinking 'bout trading my '10 6.4 for a new one. Keep us posted as to how thin new grin inducer meets expectations.

I just pulled in from Houston and the drive home was incredible. I could have gone for another 300 miles but the DW had a problem with that. The new truck has a very good ride and they managed to smooth out that bouncing in the back end which occurred when unloaded. The handling was very responsive with much less roll in the curves at highway speed. The creature comforts remained similar to my 2009 except for the addition of air conditioned front seats. Now that's a feature I can really use in the blazing heat of South Texas.. The truck averaged 18. 2 MPG per my phone calculator and that beats the heck out of the 13.1 mpg I got with my 6.4 on the way up to Houston. The acceleration has been improved on as well. I also applaud Ford for bringing back the overhead sunglass compartment-it was greatly missed. Overall I'm extremely happy with my purchase and look forward to many years of "perma grins"
