i did read somewhere you can retro the older one with some of the newer parts

If your rails are square you can flip them over. I'm unsure about round rails.

PullRite said out of good will they will ship me a new hitch head and capture plate if I paid shipping out of good will. I paid because I needed the hitch working. Got a new pin box locally from a person who up graded there box.
