Pullrite super glide towing

When we first got it was great..pulled our SB 31RK so easily. Yesterday returning home it seemed like stopping or starting up after stopping it seemed like the glide was sliding either forward or backward. Going check also with pullrite but wanted to see if anyone experienced this? Thanks

Keep us informed on what you discover is the problem. I have a 4400 super glide hitch and so far have not had a problem like you talking about happening. Mine is smooth in operation while towing and stays put when not hooked-up.

Sounds like you need to adjust the slack via the jam nut that is on the front of the hitch, this will eliminate the play you're feeling.
My former setup used a Pullrite and I had to a adjust a couple of times a year when I felt the bumping when taking off or coming to a dead stop...it's no big deal...great hitch!

I had the same problem the adjustment bolt and jamb nut were not tight on mine so read the manual
You adjust the bolt out so their is resistance for the hitch to turn left or rite. After I did this the problem went away when my hitch was installed they did not secure the jam nut or make the ajustment. The hitch started to move and bang when the fifth wheel was not connected

Stormy 2000 Cajun Po Boy and Cal 1951 are dead on right. It's easy to adjust and and it won't bang anymore. You don't have to have the trailer hooked up The hitch plate will have to much play. You adjust it till it feels right.

Pull rite hitch

I agree you just need to adjust the slack. I have a 2700 and had a issue with lubrication. The pullrite customer service was excellent. I would email through their web site. You can also down load users manual.

I am considering replacing my 2700 with a 4100 because it is about 5" lower and my 5th currently does not tow level.

had the same issue. Tighten the adjuster so that you can just barely rotate the hitch by tugging on the handle. This seems tight but will last well and take out all the clearance.

X2. When I removed my Pullrite hitch this winter I noticed that the trip lever small cylinder was bent and had a small crack. Notified Pullrite and they sent me a new part with washers and clip. Free. Excellent service.

I take the top half off by removing the two pins that hold it on. Turn it over to examine the underside and clean if necessary. I do add a little lithium grease and cycle the locking mechanism several times. You can then easily examine the tripping lever for wear and condition. Using the manual parts list diagram the part A, Fifth Wheel Plate Assembly can be easily removed. When you turn it over you will see how the mechism works and the tripping lever (Cam) that I replaced. I have the 15K model, but the other models should be similar.

Pull-rite Hitch Mechanism

Here are two pictures of the hitch mechanism and the trip lever. The small cylinder on the trip lever was bent and there is a small crack on the bottom. Hope this help explain my previous message.
