Ram 1500 Ecodiesel towing 6000lb Apex 300bhs

Finally did our first long trip with the diesel half ton pulling our 6000lb (unloaded, not sure what we weigh loaded yet) Apex 300bhs. Got great gas mileage! Just barely 18mpg. Stuck right around 65mph most of the way. Granted it was decently flat, she hummed along pretty well!

Looks great., you should try and run her over the scales to get a true weight of everything when you get a chance.

Good for you. I'm interested in hearing more about these new small diesels. Not that I am wanting one as I have a 1 ton truck with a diesel in it but just for general knowledge.

And I'm not light footed by any means. This truck regularly averages 26mpg all day long. On the highway doing 75 you get north of 30.

eco diesel

We have a 2016 Eco Diesel with the Tow Package, and are getting between 13 to 14 mpg towing a Wildwood 27rkss weighing in at a little under 7k in hilly east texas. We haven't gotten it on flat ground yet. 24 to 26 around town and 28 to 30 on highway unloaded.

Sounds like you have the 3.92 rear end. :-) I have the 3.55.

eco diesel

Yes I have the 3.92 rear end with the limit slip provision. We are really happy with it as it gets better mileage then the Hemi we traded in, and has no problem towing our trailer.

We also have an EcoDiesel with a very similar looking Wildwood. We love the way it tows and the fuel mileage. Can't beat it! No more gas trucks for us!

I am going to guess your trailer is closer to 8000lbs than 6000lbs, which makes your mpg even more impressive

Just curious what makes you think that? The UVW is 5,900 lbs. And here's a list of everything we put in the camper, I'm guessing 250 lbs extra, at the most? I don't think there's even anything on the whole list that's over 10 lbs...

You are correct I was thinking your trailer was a different model and similar to my trailer, but your model is a bit smaller than mine.
I still think you will be surprised at how much your trailer weighs if you were to send it over the scales, but it won't 8000lbs that's for sure
