Ram 1500 pulling W&P 21VFB

Please limit the spears if this has posted before. I spent 2 hours searching the forums before posting this.

I have a 2009 Ram 1500 4x4 5.7L 20" wheels, and the W&P dealer is saying that I can pull the 21VFB without a problem, but I am skeptical. Anyone out there have any experience with this.

I really like the 18EC as well, but the wife really likes the 21VFB...you know how that goes.

Thanks in advance.

Hitch Weight 902 lbs Dry Weight 5,872 lbs Gross Weight 9,702 lbs Cargo Weight 3,792 lbs

I am no expert but that hitch weight seems a bit heavy for a 1/2 ton pickup.

Have you looked up your vehicle's towing specs?

Update 1: 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 Towing Rating Increases - PickupTrucks.com News

Maybe check out this for a start. It seems that there are some variables such as engine size, axle ratio, etc., to figure in the mix.

The payload rating of the truck will be your limiting factor.
What is it?
