Ram Promaster 2500, Does anyone tow with one?

Looking for some input on using a 2500 Promaster cargo van as a TV for our 15RB hybrid. Max tow weight is 5000 and our 15RB is under 3500 loaded.
Anyone use one for a TV? Power thoughts on the gas motor? Mileage etc...?
We like the idea of a van as we carry a couple of dirt bikes, mt bikes, kayaks and hate leaving it in the back of a pickup.
Big vans are like having a small garage with you.

I would say it's better than using a Grand Caravan but probably very similar. The diesel version would be much better. I wish they made diesel Grand Caravans here like they sell in other countries. The gas motor is the same 3.6 in almost every Dodge/Chrysler/Ram/Jeep out there, lots of them used to tow smaller trailers like you have. Your advantage is the MPG penalty wouldn't be as bad as say a Grand Cherokee with the 3.6 towing that camper because your van is already pushing a big hole in the air. Still don't expect miracles, mpg will stink, slow down and I bet you might see 10mpg maybe a little more.

Bet the 3.0 liter in line 4 turbo diesel would tow well & get great mileage. Especially with a tune but don't know who has a tune for one. I love how you can configure them how you want. I'd get the 3500 it's still pretty soft when you have tongue, Fargo & people weight.

The answer to what can my 1/2 ton tow; Generically whatever TT has a GVWR less than TV’s max tow rating. Specifically is found on CAT scale via weight distribution with TV TT & WDH. Best motor & gearing all 5 Mfgs within specs IE safe & stable normally to 8k but passengers & bedload reduce this. RAM 1500 ED max tow 9,200, max axle ratings 3,900, max 09-18 CVWR 15,950, axle weights me & gear 3,240 steer 2,560 drive

V6 powertrain, plus full-height trailer is usually not a good recipe, and generally not recommended.

But due to this van's larger frontal area, and likely better gearing (?), I would think this is a good solution, for small-to-medium hybrids & ultralites.

I would recommend you look for the GCVWR, and make sure you stay under that. Having a rolling garage, you need to be careful with the toys. But being a 2500, I'm sure a small camper is not going to put your rear GAWR in jeopardy, like a large trailer often does with a 3/4-ton pickup.

Let us know how this works for you.
