Rear RV Hitch

Anybody know of other brands of hitches for the rear of trailers. I found a couple made by Curt and one made by Hidden Hitch. Seems there would be more hitch companies building these?

Not sure what u want to mount on the hitch but warranty on frame is voided when anything is attached to frame or bumper.
You didn't say make model or year either.

Agree with turbo... not recommended. Suggest search many posts on this subj...

If you still want a receiver, suggest find a knowledgable welding shop with lots of experience building custom hitches. Also suggest keep wt to a min.

Good luck.

Oh, I have a 2013 Rockwood 8289WS.

My last trailer had one of these from the factory.

I have read about the warranty deal. And from what I can tell, Lippert will not warranty it anyway? They appear to be quite creative in comming up with reasons it wasn't there fault the frame failed.

Is your Sabre factory installed bike rack/ cooler hauler safe for bikes?
Just not sure by what you meant when you said you had a bike rack hitch fail. Not the current one right?
Asking because my Shasta Revere also has a bike rack/ cooler hauler whatever tray on the back of it.

IMO, none of them are safe to carry bikes whether factory installed or aftermarket. The shock loads generated by the roads which is magnified by the bikes will eventually break either the rack or the frame where it mounts. Best thing to do with bikes is make a stand up rack to set inside the trailer.

That's one of the better ones I've seen, but I still would not put bikes on it unless they were secured to where they could not shake or vibrate. The shaking/vibration is the villain on any steel frame. Voice of experience.

There is a vertical component to it for bikes. I should have put it up for show but it's dark outside now. Regardless, we don't plan on taking bikes, we are busy with the dogs. I posted this just for sake of argument. Might puta box on it for gear. We also cannot have bike in our trailer, slide is too big.

Nawww, I don't mean to troll...
I am just trying to understand what works best and safe ways to use TT.
I've read many posts about rear bike hitches and wondered if ours was safe or jot ( regardless wether we pit bikes on it or not).

Just ribbing you. Too many horror stories about bikes carried on rear hitches and I have seen too many on the interstates, etc. just flopping around. I either slow down and let them get way ahead of me or get in the other lane and pass them.

Sounds like a lot of experienced campers are extremely gun-shy on the rear bike rack concept. What we need is a bit of video footage (taken by a passenger of course) of those rear bike racks on the move to demonstrate just how badly they can shake and bounce! I've seen it and I know what they are talking about, but we never managed to get any footage of it.

My bikes are prized posessions, so you'll never see them hanging off of the back of a trailer!

Must be a reason they are not offered any more.
Some one said "legal department" recommendation.
I wonder why?

I think you've asked the million dollar question there HERK. I like to see a manufacturer or two chime in.

I think with the number of bumpers being broken and possible bikes & bumper dropped on the highway, it is reasonable to understand the reason the lawyers got involved.
