Reese Revolution?

Our 5th Wheel came with the Revolution king-pin, but the dealer was unable to tell me anything about it.

I watched the Forest River video, and found a little more info about the king-pin online, but not enough.

I've got a B&W turnover companion hitch in the bed of my truck. One piece of info I found was that the hitch is not compatible.

Does anyone know why? I've pulled the RV on four trips, and have not had any problems. However, I've never seen the RV pivot anywhere other than at the hitch.

Is that the compatibility problem? If so, I can live with it.

I also received the reese revolution hitch on my 2012 Rockwood. I was not expecting it to come as normal equipment since the 2011 had it listed as an upgrade. I have a slide hitch in my truck from my former 5er, so I have not activated the revolution. It will not pivot unless you remove the bolts at the pivot point. You then have to use the block to stop movement at your kingpin.

You can actually use the Companion if you drill two more 1/2" holes through your bed and through the rear of the "skids(base)" and bolt it there. That will help to alleviate the twisting force put on the Companion by the Reese. I would, however, fabricate a crossmember that bolts to the frame under those new bolts instead of just using the bed sheetmetal to bolt to. That would also help eliminate all of the movement that the Companion has in the bed of your truck....and they move a lot.

I took a peek under the RR kingpin, and studied the little decal for a while. I finally saw (thanks to ya'll's help) where the bolts are that need to be removed.

I also saw a line that mentions a wedge for the B&W hitch. So maybe it can be used with a B&W? And what does the wedge do?
