Reese Revolution Pin Box

Hi all. Looking for some insight...we just purchased a new 2016 Flagstaff 8529IKBS and it tows great. It's equipped with a Reese Revolution pin box, which I have locked out to accommodate my B&W Companion hitch. My question is in regards to the specs shown in the manual for the Reese pin box, which was supplied by the dealer. In going through the info I see the max gross trailer weight is listed as 10,000# and a max pin weight of 2,000#. The installed factory placards show the trailer's empty weight as 9,752# and a gross weight of 11,662#. The Reese weight limitation placard is missing from the pin box and doesn't look like it was ever installed. My take is, based on the 10,000# limit in the Reese manual, it's not possible to operate the trailer anywhere close to its max gross weight. I sent an inquiry to Forest River and was supplied with the actual factory weight sheet for the trailer which confirms the numbers above. The only difference is it shows a pin box rating of 16,000#, which I assume is the Lippert frame spec? Can't imagine the trailer would leave the factory with a 5th wheel pin box that won't accommodate the trailer's max weight, but I'm a bit skeptical at this point. I'm also waiting for a return call from the dealer about the issue. Should I be concerned or am I just missing something? Perhaps the wrong manual was included in the paperwork? Thanks in advance!

Just received clarification from the factory that the installed pin box is rated at 16K. Why supply a manual that lists it at 10K? At least I received clarification and feel better now. Also have to say the customer service has been great thus far!

You are going to love the 8529IKBS.
We have had ours for about 10 months now and it has been a super unit so far!

If you want to be sure of the weight, call Reese and give them your hitch numbers. That's what I would do and be sure it's right. It ain't gonna fall apart, but I would like to know.

Good advice...I'll see if I can locate any numbers on the hitch. As mentioned, the placard for serial#, weight limitation, etc. isn't there. Thanks!

My sticker was missing too!
You could see the glue mark where it was... but no sticker.

It did have a sticker that said "Parts made in Mexico" with a build date of 9/15/15 that seemed to survive though!!

We bought the unit in October of last year so the pin box was only 1 month old and the afore mentioned sticker was already missing.

Just checked mine and the sticker is right at the top of the hitch. Mine says 10,000 lbs and pin no more than 2,000 lbs. My RV is approx 7,970 lbs dry and approx 9,250 lbs loaded. Pin is 1,180 lbs. I figure I am safe but this is something that I will definitely look for in any future purchases.

Yep, that's where mine is supposed to be. I've looked for numbers stamped into the hitch body but haven't found anything. For piece of mind I'm going to call Reese to see if there's any other way to identify what pin box/hitch is installed. Thanks for the input everyone!
