FYI
Check out youtube...I've seen a few videos on the revolution pinbox being used by short box Fords...may help you decide if that's the route you want to go

I use it with 6.5 ft bed. There will be some 5.5'ERS also.

Think you should do some serious measuring before you spend the extra $ on a slider. I pull a 5er with the std Reese 16K non-slider in an extended cab Silverado with a 6.5' bed. I have more than 6" clearance which is 1/2 the difference in a 5.5' vs 6/5' bed.

I was thinking a 5er until I decided against it for our needs but, I have a 5'5" bed and I was going to do the fixed hitch with a revolution pin box. The Pull-Rites are nice but, they also are heavy too on a half ton truck that is already low on payload.

The few dealers I was looking at only recommended the pull-rite because that is what they were most familiar with. Once, I mentioned the fixed with the revolution and they did some more study and research on it, they saw as well that it might be a better option.

Sometimes, dealers are just more familiar with the slider setup and not as educated on the revolution or sidewinder so they don't recommend it because of that reason.

Cost wise, it's probably close to the same if not less expensive to go the non-slider route.

Good luck, let us know what you choose!

One more thing. Should you ever have reason to, you can bolt the revolution pin in place and use it as a regular pin with a basic hitch. Just sayin.
