Reese SC WDH trunnion bar pads worn

The brake pad material on my trunnion bar seats are starting to crumble. New hitch and trailer this June. Just 5, 60 mile trips and one 1200 mile trip on it. Just got back from the 1200 mile trip yesterday evening to Desin FL and back. When I dropped he TT off at storage unit I noticed the brake pad material on the bar seats were worn and crumbling. My weights checked at scales were good. It was very hot the whole trip back yest. 94 degrees average, and very hilly through KY, TN and AL. I know it was a long drive for one day. Kept my speed at 61 mph. TT towed great with hardly no sway. 610 miles from my house to campground in Destin. Should these pads wear his fast? Only $24 for a new set of 4.

Reese Reese SC Weight Distributing Hitch (800 lbs) 66153

This is the hitch That I have. It does great, just worried abt. The pad wear. Thanks,
Jim

I have a very similar hitch, no problems with the pad material after 15 years!! tongue weight is unknown but I have ballhead tilt at max and the tv(dodge Dakota) is maxed out for my comfort level, so tongue weight is probably 400 lbs or so
