Had a 2002 Trailblazer ltz. Did have a aftermarket remote stater installed from bestbuy.
Everything did worked as designed for sometime.

Now I dont know if the remote start had anything to do with both mirrors turning all the way in or not... But if we started the truck w/o remote it worked fine.

I ended up going into the dash menu and disabling the memory seats. While it does not solve the underlying issue, it appears to have fixed the mirror problem.

When all else fails, read the Owners Manual.

Read page 3-8, Memory Seats, which also discusses the memory mirrors, and it points you to page 5-46, Vehicle Personalization, of your owners manual which talks about defeating the function.

But I agree with others: set it up so it remembers where you want it and you won't have the problem anymore. Also keep in mind that you probably have 2 fobs, and each one will probably remember different positions (so 2 drivers each have their own "memory" settings).

Good luck.

I tried saving in both memory locations in case I have the #2 fob and it still made the mirrors go all wonky.

do both mirrors move when using the remote or only one? Will check and see if there is a bulletin, but sounds like the position sensor in the mirror motor in not reading the location of the mirror properly.

checked for bulletins. None apply to the problem you have . The memory mirror position is controlled by the driver's door module or basicly the driver's door window switch assembly.

Yes, both mirrors move but your sensor theory makes sense. I replaced the factory mirrors with after market towing mirrors last summer. They could be defffective. Anyways, I've disabled the memory seats in the dash menu and the issue has gone away.

Interesting bit of info... I know several GM guys that have swapped out the factory mirrors for the trailer tow mirrors. I’ll ask if they have ever ran into this issue? I’m a RAM and have had a couple sets swapped at the Dealer during a “new” purchase. I’ve never ran into that issue. Thanks for the good info.
