Revolution Pin box/ Titan 20K

Still having extreme problems hooking and unhooking from my Reese Titan 20k
hitch. But on the forum many owner's are very happy with their setup. Does anyone have the titan hitch and are happy with it ? Or should I look for a different hitch that is not such a hassle ?

Hello,

Which wedge are you using? I have a 18k Reese Elite and use a Reese Wedge. They need grease on the pin, the wedge, the plate. I find after dropping landing gear and chocking the DW gets behind the wheel puts in reverses and I can release with was every time. Sometimes it just releases on its own.

I've used the universal wedge and tried the custom wedge- the universal seems to work better. Yes I have lubed all the points you mentioned. Constantly have problems with latching and unlatching- but I will say I'm doing it by myself.

One thing I found is the edge being to far forward in the throat of the hitch. My trick Es to hitch up. Then full forward slight my making sure the hitch has all the weight on the latch. I set the wedge in the throat as far forward then back off let's say 3/16 of a inch. I found with the universal wedge it was rubbing on the jaws. The indented portion of the universal wage still rubbed, in some sites when on a angle it prevents the jaw from disengaging without either backing up or using force on the handle. My jaw is one piece full clamshell design.
The custom wedge is much shorter on the nose and does not hit the clamshell jaw. One thing I have done by myself is to put the truck in reverse slight pressure and release the jaw. I also set the parking brake but at this point I have landing gear down, 4 chick blocks and x chicks installed. I also jack up enough to take sone weight off the truck on the hitch.

My sidewinder started making a grinding noise at the pivot point on trailer during our first trip. The grinding can be felt through the entire truck especially when making a left turn. Dealer ground down universal wedge but I'm insisting on the right wedge for my Reese 16k hitch. I am leery that the wedge will fix the problem. Tried lubing the swivel point with lithium grease. There appears to be black granules building up on the swivel and pin box pin area. I think the whole pin box needs to be replaced. Thoughts?

I being brand new I would certainly request such. The grinding noise most likely won't be caused by a wedge. It's the pjn box.
