Rims

Before I pick up my new trailer I want to put E rated Lt's on my 2012 F150. Will my stock rims be able to handle the E's?Click image for larger version

This will depend on the maximum pressure or load rating stamped on the inside of the rim. Do you have P-rated tires on the F150 a lot of 1/2 ton trucks use P-rated tires for a smoother ride than LT tires. Thus the rim will have a lower rating for the tire load than a E rated tire that could support up to 3195 LBS at 70 PSI.

The selling dealer should be able to tell you if your rims are capable of using E-rated tires.

Thanks John. That's what I was looking for. Trying to get the wiggle out of the truck when I pull my trailer.

The only "rating" I could ever find about Ford wheels is a max weight rating that seems to coincide exactly with the axle rating- so I'm pretty sure it is a made up number. I know lot's of people are running LRE tires with no problems. I've run LRD tires on mine at 65psi with no problem.
