Question Rockwood 2905WS-what size Equal-I-Zer hitch?

Just ordered my Rockwood 2905WS. Pulling it with my 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 Sport (Hemi). I will be about 800lbs under GCWR when all loaded up. I haven't gotten the trailer yet, as it is on order. What size Equal-i-zer hitch do i need? I am looking at the 1,000/10,000 or the 1,200/12,000 ones, but without knowing total tongue weight yet, not sure what to get. Shows about 830lbs empty at tongue. Should be at about 7500lbs loaded in trailer, but not sure on tongue wight until I weigh it up.

Without knowing your loaded tongue weight. I would use 15% of 7500 = 1125 lbs tongue weight to size your bars.

Most of the time but not always. Too big and it could cause damage to the trailer frame, you need some "give" for those bumpy roads.
1,200/12,000 sounds right on this one. I went with a 1,400/14,000 on my old Flagstaff with a TW of 950lbs. too big!

I have a Rockwood 3029 (in the 8500 lbs range when loaded) which is towed with an F150 Ecoboost. Use a 1200 version Equal-i-zer

The website at Equal-i-zer® Hitch - The “American Original” with 4-Point Sway Control™ and Weight Distribution has a section on sizing...fill in three blanks and tells you exactly which hitch.

Smile WDB Hitch

It would benefit you greatly to get the 1200/12,000 Hitch. I speak from experience on this one.
