Still have not taken delivery (Ordered April 9th). Corian tops are still not delivered. At this point I'm ready to put the rolling table out on the curb and buy TV trays. Thanks for the updates. I will look at these things very closely once we do the dealer walk-thru......whenever that happens.
Please don't hesitate to let me know if you see something else......Thanks for your help

I bought my 8282ws in June and have lived in it since. My only issues have been that my awning is crooked and one arm doesn't extend correctly, as well as the hem of the carpet ripping like others have had. Has anyone gotten warranty to cover that issue? I will say I absolutely love the trailer. I am a pipeline inspector and have lived in it for almost three months and moved it probably 1000miles. It is working out great.

No warranty coverage yet due to user causing it. Basically, if you leave the camper sitting and never use it, the carpet hem would not rip off. Duh! I believe it'll always be an issue in this model as both carpets press against the island wheels when slides are closed. We're planning our second mending next week. Same hem twice.

We found a guy near by who does carpet repairs for RV dealers. He came to our camper in cg with his machine and new hem and sewed full length for $35. We were shocked at low cost and quality of work. The new tear is the one he replaced. That heavy island can do some damage. He has said he'll come repair again at no charge. ??? Warranted his work. I'll still pay him tho because his work wasn't bad, just bad design with island sitting on hem of carpet.

Well if he can hem, can he cut as well? Just thinking if he could notch the area where the wheel is, then hem a new area. On another note, can't the island be stationed somewhere else during travel, you know, a little to the right? I assume not. Could we see a pic? I'm interested in this as a lot of models have moveable islands.

Please keep in mind if you full time in that RV and Forest River knows of it, you will not have a warranty. Most RVs are rated for occational use only. Good Luck

I've considered taking a little off the rug also and will ask him about that. This island was planned for transport here because there is a tie down strap screwed to floor under sofa that snaps around the island. There is plenty of room to store it near the door in front of pantry but extra some precautions will have to be made so that it doesn't bang up against cabinets and drawers and slide facing.
I'm giving it alot of thought.
Wife and I have learned to clear the wheels before opening g slides but service didn't do that when they were working in it a couple of weeks ago. Was torn again when we got home with it from service appt. Sure they did it but can't prove it. Needs a permanent fix. Shortening the carpet may be best idea.

Went to go visit my unit today. With the slides all the wqay in there seems to be enough room to sit without touching the carpets on the slide.

I also posted the inside on the table. Does it look similar to what you had going on with regard to the floor coming up?

Yeah Joe, Mine was like that. You can see where I had to put some 3/4" X 1" strips on the bottom inside of the cabinet to support the weight of the island. If not, any downward pressure, hard bouncing, etc, will make the wheels push the bottom up into the cabinet space. The floor is attached to the inside of the walls with staples only. Floor shoud be under the walls to hold the weight of the table. Pretty easy fix tho. 1 5/8" screws did the job.

So I am "scheduled" to do the demo on the 23rd of August for my 8282WS ordered on April 9th. They are going to deliver the table to my house when they get the Corian for the table and have installed it. Repairs to the floor and walls of the table will commence immediately upon arrival. Thanks for the heads up.

Just completed a 1300 mile, 12 day, trip from NY to Cedar Point, OH with my Rockwood and it performed great. We love our Rockwood!!!!

Sweet. We're on the down hill side of a three week run from LA to Yellowstone, Montana. 4700 miles. In Branson mo for 3 nights. Avg mpg is 11.8 but that includes solo trips thru the mountains. Hitched up all the way to Estes park, co was 10.0 mpg. No complaints with tundra.

No slider. I always roll the rear window down before I make a big turn. It won't hit, but it's really close.
