Rockwood 8306SS + F150

I can't remember. Do I need a WDH? I think I'll be ok. Likely tow like it's not even there.

Pick it up May 9th. I'll let you know how it goes.

The hitch on the truck is probably rated at 5000 lbs without a WDH.
You will not be OK.
You absolutely will know it is there.

Get equipped properly and then enjoy!

You must be dreaming if you think you it will "Likely tow like it's not even there.", and there is no way you can safely tow it WITHOUT a WDH. No doubt you can pull it, but there is no way you can control GVWR 8761lbs without the WDH.

Agree with everyone. You must get a WDH! All my research lead me to either an Equalizer 4 point sway or the Reese Dual Cam. I went with the Equalizer, it seemed to work better for me but both are great hitches. After looking at your TT specs I would go with the 12000# hitch. After loading your TT you would be real close to the 1000# hitch weight so 1200# would give you wiggle room.

Good luck and enjoy your new TT.

Facetious is the word!

Just a prelude to the up and coming unveiling of the new TT!

I was thinking the 1200 lb bars also.

We've seen those words in other posts so I thought it would be way too boring to just tell you the whole story.

Sorry just playing with ya.

Dry weight on sticker is 6700 lbs. I figure 7500-7700 lbs loaded. If you run the numbers it is close to the max for my truck, 2010 F150 with 7200 lb GVWR. FR says 867 lb of tongue weight so fairly close. I should have enough capacity to still carry the kayaks and bikes in the back. May have to put the dog on a diet!

With a 7700 pound camper loaded to a properly balanced 13% tongue load you will have a 1000 pound tongue weight.

The absolute minimum tongue (it will sway like crazy) (9%) a 7700 pound camper will have a 700 pound tongue.

At the maximum safe tongue load (15%) the load on your WD hitch will be 1155 pounds. (steering will be affected at this setting.)

I think 'I can't remember' was the first clue

But seriously: Dry weight on sticker is 6700 lbs. I figure 7500-7700 lbs loaded. If you run the numbers it is close to the max for my truck, 2010 F150 with 7200 lb GVWR. How close are you to the GVWR? I am curious because I also am close to mine in my Ram.
And, what is the towing capability of your 150?
