But going across the scales, my truck weighs in around 6000 lbs. with me in the seat for a 1200 lb. cargo carrying capacity. Now I have added a bed liner, TracRac rails, my personal gear in the cab, the Reese hitch and a small portable tool box in the bed. Subtracting my ~190 lbs., there is no way that the add-ons weigh in at ~ 600 lbs. (6000 - 190 - 5236). I wish I would have weighed my truck coming from the dealer just to see the true empty weight.

All the reasons why you ignore the BS payload numbers that the factory tries very hard to inflate.

To the OP...just go weight it loaded, ready to camp. Remember to make allowance for the weight of a 5th wheel hitch. It's the first thing I did before I even thought seriously about a 5th wheel.

Otherwise is all guessing and speculation!

I looked again on the post by the drivers door for the payload for my truck and saw a different number then the brochure said, my number on the post was 1,775 and the brochure said 1,921 this number must mean an empty truck. I may try this combo out and see what happens, but I have not ruled out up-grading to a 3/4 ton.

The pillar payload is the "as built" with options.
The "book" one is that model's "S" (or standard) with no options.

I have been posting her status in a separate thread started by Neil Dunn.
Herk's wife

She is doing much better. Slight fever, but pain is being managed.
Thank you for asking!
