Just Got a BakFlip

We were recently crossing country and got a little goosey about our extra gear being exposed in our parked pickup while taking tours, etc. We had a few hours so we found the closest truck accessory enterprise and ended up buying a BakFlip. We've been thoroughly happy with it. No complaints whatsoever.

X2 on the BakFlip MX4. I'm happy with mine. Leaks a little bit, but then they pretty much all do. Generally keeps stuff in the bed dry, plus it locks at 6 points so it's pretty secure. Mine actually has 4 sections (for my 6-1/2 foot bed). You can fold up the other 3 sections on top of the 1 section in front nearest the cab and drive with it that way. Or you can fold all 4 sections up against the cab rear window and lock them in place with a couple of rods to have clear access to the entire bed.

I had a Roll-n-Lock on my prior truck, it came to me with it. It was awesome. I may get one for my new truck..... they are $1500 bucks, but I think well worth it. And yes, they do truly lock. If you have a locking tailgate, they will play hell getting to your stuff.

I have a 2013 F150 6.5 ft. bed. I have the Gator roll up tonneau cover. When installed by owner correctly(follow install) , I have had no leaks , even after going thru a car wash. The price for the quality is good. I have had this type of roll up on three F150's going back to 2004. My Vehicle is always parked outside.

I'm on my second Access, first one wore out after 9 years of a lot of use. Easy to install, but easier with a second set of hands.

I just bought a new Ram 3500 short bed to replace my F-350 long bed. I considered switching from a tool chest to a roll up cover, but after considering the loss of secure storage when towing I decided to stick with a tool chest. Better Built makes one that fits perfectly in my truck.

I use the Leer tri-fold hard cover.
Seals really well and folds up out of the way for a 5er.

Two Truxedo Lopros on two trucks and they work great. At least a foot of snow on both with no issues. Highly recommend.

Don't get the Deuce. Leaks, and in order to lock the front opening part, you have to roll it up. Doesn't make sense.

Tonneau Cover

We have the same one as BrewHead. Great cover. Not cheap, but does what we wanted it to.

Roll up truck bed covers

I have a truxedo soft roll-up that has been moved from my 04 Ram to an 06 and is now on my 2011. I also removed Centre headrest so I could see the 5th wheel hitch to hook-up. If a tri-panel were folded up, impossible to see the hitch?
While not 100% waterproof, it keeps rain off anything I carry in the back. And I leave my hitch in the truck bed all the time. My tailgate is unlocked, so if anyone wants to see what is back there, they don’t even need a knife!
My son ordered his soft roll up through COSTCO, but I am not sure of the McGraw, but it looks pretty good.

If you like your Roll-n-Lock, you'll LOVE the ReTrax Pro power unit. Had 2 R-n-L that wore out in less than 5 years each. Put the ReTrax on my previous truck and my neighbor that owns it now loves it.

Put a new one on my 2017 Silverado and it's great. Yes, lots of $$$ but worth it.

Works well with a 5th wheel hitch. Just open it to clear the hitch, then when you're unhitched, just push the remote to close it.

I've owned one for several years. It's been on two trucks and still works great!

roll up

Have a Pace Edwards roll up. 4th truck and 4th Pace Edwards. Love it. Aluminum slats and very strong. Water tight and secure. Open for towing and close when not. Locks and just like having a secure trunk. Has various stops so when hitched can close cover up to the hitch to secure what is stowed behind hitch. Costly, Was about $1,800 installed for a GMC long bed.

Roll ups are just fine and cost less. Built in cross members make snow weight a non issue. Tight as a drum if installed right. Sure, in time velcro will weaken it's grip, but mine holds like new at 5 years. Pro's , when you need to secure a taller load against the cab. I never keep anything of value under it so security's not real important. Leave tailgate unlocked so a thief doesn't have to cut the cover to steal my firewood.

I will admit that I was very close to getting one of these. But I found a great deal on the MX4 so I couldn't pass it up. The MX4 is kinda heavy (like the G2), and I couldn't see my hitch when hooking up, but still have no problem recommending it. By the way, the G2 and the MX4 for an F-250/2500 is 4 fold, not 3. I always towed with one fold down. Never an issue.

Something to consider....

I have a tri-fold on my long bed. Good price, works great, stays securely in place when hooked up to fiver.

Then I added a 60 gal auxiliary fuel tank in truck bed. I have to completely remove the cover to fill the aux tank.

I'm now in the market for a roll-up.
