RV Brakes Smell In Toad?

After towing a 2001 Prius on an American Tow Dolly behind our 2006 SunSeeker for 1000 miles, I noticed what I thought was a burnt rubber smell inside of the car. The vents flushed the odor from the cabin after about ten minutes.

On the return trip we followed a semi down a long downgrade, where he used his brakes a lot. The smell reminded me of that inside the toad, but not quite.

Is this common? Do RV brakes smell, like truck brakes do?

all brakes more or less have that smell. Try shutting the car off while the max AC is running before towing. that should shut the fresh air door on the HVAC system of the car and reduce any odors getting in.

Thanks for the idea, makes a lot of sense. Funny how I don't seem to think of these "obvious" things till they're pointed out to me.
