That is exactly correct.

There is a speaker at the scale where you can talk and listen to the attendant. They will tell you when to stop as you pull forward.

Then tell them you want a "Reweigh" drive to the parking area, drop the trailer then back to the scales.

Go to the office pay the @17.00 and they will give you the two weigh tickets.

Simple.

One thing that I do think people get hung up on is that they "need" to use a CAT scale. I've always just used a standard scale and taken measurements and subtracted weights as I rolled on. It's a little more math but the same concept. The spreadsheet I use actually does all the calculating as I enter the scale data.

Living in WA, I need to find a CAT or other private scale. Local dirt suppliers are easy and close by with large scales.

When we travelled through OR this year and last, they have roadside scales that I have rolled across. Those are very handy and I wish we had them up here.

We use the scales when fully loaded and all water tanks empty, we get 2 tickets one hooked up and 2nd after I drop front jacks and weigh 5er and truck separate just to be sure. We get weighed once every year regardless - 2018 F-350 / 2019 Grand Design Reflection. Have fun & Be safe

With a travel trailer, you'll do 3 weighings:

1) truck + trailer together; WDH connected/"engaged"
* pull off the scale to make changes, disconnect WDH bars and throw them in the truck bed *
2) truck + trailer together; WDH off- just coupler on ball
* pull off the scale + park the trailer *
3) truck only

Full instructions here:

If you have the "Weigh My Truck" app, you can capture each weight with the app. If you don't, you have to go inside after the first weighing to get your weigh slip so that you have a weigh number for the re-weighs.

And then, take the results and plug them into this:

This Pilot just became operational a few months ago. A year ago it didn't exist so many in the area, don't know about it. I check it out, every so often, and it seems to be empty a lot

That is a pretty detailed spreadsheet. I made a quick one the other day but no where as detailed as yours. I never thought to put in the capacities of the truck and trailer axles.

Thank you for sharing.

AWESOME site. Just came from the local port weight scales. Did the 3 runs. Plugged in actual numbers and everything I calculated jives. Plus, it gave me my loaded camper weight, assuming after bars sent some weight back, which was a number I was not able to calculate.
