Sabre 34reqs-6 behind 2006 dodge 2500

This 5th wheel has a gvwr of 13750 and a hitch weight of 1750. I am thinking about buying it. I have a 06 dodge 2500 4x4 diesel. What do you guys think, will my truck handle it? Also it is a short bed, will the b and w companion hitch work for me? Thanks for the help!

The truck will handle it but your pin weight is going to get heavy once you start loading it up. I don't know the design of the front of the trailer but you may want to look at getting a slider for the tight spots. I have never needed a slider but the front of my trailer is cut way back on the corners.

Maybe, the pin weight listed is to light. It needs to be closer to 20% of trailer weight. Don't know what that Dodge is rated for, GVWR or axle weight, I bet it is close to or over the limit? Also, combined weight limit may also be a problem if truck weight plus pin weight is say 9,750 lbs and the 5er 13,750 lbs you will be over the combined weight limit. I don't push limits, I leave a margin for safety.
I drive a 2011, F250, CC, longbed, diesel, with a truck limit of 10,000 lbs and a 5er with a 9,850 limit and a combined limit of 23,500 lbs and I wouldn't tow an almost 14,000 trailer with what I have, many would and some will also call me weight police or other bad names. Ford states that I could tow a 16,300 lbs 5er, that would be over the combined limit and I think, based on many years towing, that I would not want to tow much over 11,000 lbs.

The empty weight of that trailer is 10,719 lbs. 13,750 is the max loaded weight. And the 1750 pin weight is also on a empty trailer. I may have mislead you guys buy the way I typed that in above. I believe (but not positive) if I was careful I could stay well below the max weight of 13,750. I really appreciate your thoughts. I have a TT right now and want to upgrade to a fifth wheel.

We have ordered a 34reqs. We put the pull rite super slider hitch in. We will be pulling it with a 2009 Dodge 2500. 6.7 diesel Quad 4x4. Here is a link to specs on the dodge trucks

http://www.rambodybuilder.com/year.pdf

It has all the specs including towing , for all dodge trucks from 2004 to 2012.
The spec for my truck are, 1988 pin weight max. 13000 gross tow weight, and 9000 lbs GVWR on truck. And GCW. 20,000 lbs.
I ran the numbers with a calculator for fifth wheel towing. We are in ok with about 14% safety margin, which was less then recommended.
I fell we are at the max, if we replace truck I would get a 3500
