Actually, I was moving the TT to the driveway to load up for our last trip. Forgot the tire cover. It stayed on about 3 revolutions. LOL. I should have used super glue. Hee Hee.

I don't really see the humor in that....that's why we ALWAYS do walk-arounds before we move, no matter how far. Maybe it's just me.

Really? I am sure he did too, and that's what makes it funny! Doing your last walk around checks....and missing the tire covers! It's all good! I admire the confession!

How about moving the 5vr out from under the hitch with the tailgate UP. Can't hide from from that little mistake for sure... oh, and about $1400.00 later.

I guess being a truck driver/ driver trainer by trade, I have a little different mind set than most. Doing a walk around and missing tire covers is one thing and but not noticing a split rim or broken belt on one of your tires is a completely different thing. As far as the tailgate thing goes, if you buy a $30-40k 5'er, spend $300 for a 5'er tailgate and you won't have to think about it. Just sayin..........stay safe.

Not everyone. Listen, I'm not saying mistakes don't happen (i'm not that naïve), but there is something called, 'preventable' vs. 'non-preventable', with regards to accidents or as some like to call them, incidents'. If something happens, ie, wheel cover removal, I'd call that a preventable type of issue. Unlike something like, like.....um, I can't think of any non-preventable examples. Someone else.........

You are so correct 5verdriver! I am a true believer in pro active vs reactive! I was just fun in the wheel covers....did not mean to make light of checking and rechecking before you travel!!

Ya know, that is a legit issue, however if you inspect your tires and run proper pressure (cold), watch your DOT number(dates) and replace BEFORE you need to, you shouldn't have any issues. Now, that being said, road hazards/blown tire would be more of the non-preventable kind.
Thanks for the input Turbo ----Rvchick, NP, just don't like anyone gambling with there families and equipment.
