Safety chains

Here in CA safety chains aren't required for a 5th wheel, but I'm assuming in some states they are. Is it just wise to have them installed anyway? I'm towing a Wildcat Maxx 313RE with a gooseneck adapter. When I retire in less than 2 years we plan on traveling around this great country of ours!

safety chains aren't required on fifth wheel hitches, but a lot of states require safety chains on goose necks.

Since you have technically converted your fifth wheel into a goose neck, you'll need safety chains.

Thanks Bama, that makes sense and I'll be installing chains!
