Agree with the Chevy engineer getting hired by Ford. My Chevy has the same issue, and solved by buying a new clevis hook that has the wider throat and is rated higher at Tractor Supply (https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/pr...n?cm_vc=-10005)

Those are the exact version shown in the second picture in post #1. No joy without modification.
You guys fussing about the truck hitches need to take a good look as to how your chains are attached to the trailer. Mine are bolted to the tongue with 3/8” grade 5 bolts using a flat washer to support the chains.
So we shouldn't worry about whether the chains actually attach to the new trucks . . . ?

No I didn’t say not to worry. The thread is about fussing on chain attach points to the truck. I didn’t disagree but if most will look at their rigs, the majority of chains would break off the trailer anyway due to such shoddy design.

I had the same problem with the 20K receiver. I figured this out on Sunday. When I went for a trial run with the new truck. Went to my local Northern Tool and picked up these larger hooks. Work pretty sweet. Headed out tomorrow for the long weekend.
