False I do in fact have a reese pro slide 16k

Pictures I posted at the start of thread shows my max turing radius without engaging slider hitch.

I can go beyond 90° with slider engaged.

my father in law brought his 39ft designer jayco over before I got my hitch, I wanted to see if it was possible to just get a reg hitch like he has. His truck is the same as mine but with the GMC badge, he also is a full timer the last 15 years and pulls that monster about 40k a year he tried and could not make the turn. So I went with the autoslide and not worry about it..

Jevanb, if I can use your truck and trailer, I'll come give it a shot! sounds like some tree trimming and driveway work is in order. I usually don't have the patience when getting back home.

Now, more about turbs enjoying 50 shades of grey...is he colorblind or something??

Isn't this thread supposed to be about short bed trucks? A 6.5' bed is not a short bed IMO. It's the standard these days. My 5.5' bed is a short bed (with a 145" wheelbase). An 8' bed is rare in my area.

if you use the truck it has the auto slider, but I do have a lockout bar I can use. the driveway work is out of the question, as I should of put in longer pipe when I built the driveway, I thought of putting in a longer pipe, but I would need a excavator to dig her up (under 6 feet of fill) but we are entertaining the idea of putting in another approach and making a u at the house, and the trees stay per the wife. I wanted to clear the entire 10 acres but the wife said only enough for the house and she is the boss if I let her

Can you do that drinking Fat Tires? I think not.

It's a Dodge 2500 CTD and a B&W Patriot set on the rear setting. No problems, plenty of room.

You're right , it can't be done.

If I'm ever up there I'll come show you how. I put mine in places just like that at the State campgrounds on the lakes around here. I'll see if I can get some video the next time I'm in one of these places. So far no bookings yet. They are all at bigger sites.

Thanks to ya'll for some great discussions... I din't mean to shake the tree and updet the bee hive but believe me when I have gained a lot from reading your thoughts on this topic...

At this point, I am going to put a regular Reese 16K in the back of my NTM used 2014 Dodge 3500. I will experiment in the OLD LOWE's parking lot and see what I can do. If I have to activate the Reese Revolution I have that ability.

You must be slipping in your old age, Ron. I did almost the exact same thing, but I did it at night, without lights.............and in a snowstorm. I said almost, because I wasn't reading 50 shades of grey, since I was power napping most of the time.

I just installed the Precision Custom Hitch in my 6 1/2' bed.
model # 421
it has 2 positions...both locations are full time so its 1 or the other.
im running in the rearward position which is 3" back from centerline as per the directions from the owner of PCH.

Tow Vehicle is 2012 Dodge Ram 2500 Megacab 4x4 6.7 cummins with short bed. My 2014 Rockwood 8289ws has the Reese Sidewinder on it from the factory and it works very well. No clearance issues and I can turn 90 degrees under it. Only problem I had was mechanics at dealer where I bought were clueless on how it worked and setting it up. When I got home I called Reese and talked to someone in tech support who told me the proper way to set it up with the wedge and also told me they come with a universal wedge (part that goes in the throat of the 5th wheel) but they also sell a specific wedge for the different brands of hitches. I bought a spray can of white lithium grease and have sprayed the throat of the hitch and the plate and jaws plus the sides of the wedge. Made it lock up much easier then when dry. Even all our Frog strangler rains we get in south LA has not washed the grease off.
