Sorry I did not include non-slider hitch... I guess I just thought that no one would tow a fifth wheel trailer without some means to ensure that no damage was done to either trailer or TV during up to 90 degree maneuvering into or out of parking locations. My oversight.

I mainly tow gooseneck equipment trailers. But between them and semis , I could count the number of times I've been close to 90° on my hands (and the trailers would be empty when doing this). And never close with a 5er.
With the rounded fronts and extended pinboxes, most trailers (rv 5th wheels) are able to be towed without a slider. That and the fact I dislike the strain on axles, tires, and suspention on a loaded trailer when turning even close to 70-80°, ill just add a couple more points to my turns!

Although I now have a long bed my last truck was a shortbed and had a slider in it. I was actually amazed at how sharp of a turn I could make without sliding her back.

My point is, I don't worry about putting it anywhere because if it will go with a slider it will go without one if you learn to back the rig instead of taking the easy way out.
If you are good putting un-needed stress on your your trailers frame and axle, then good on you. I prefer not having to worry about breaking an axle or spring or wheel far from home. I've seen far more front fenders messed up on tv's than back windows taken out. Maybe someone should invent a 5er hitch that mounts to the hood so people can see the front of their tv and see to back the trailer too.

I can make it home without a back window but it will be hard to drag the 5er with a broken axle.

Goose neck air ride pin box. I am so confused why every one wants to turn as tight as they can, the stress on your tires and axles is so great that I wouldn't want to do it even if I could, if I can't get it in to a spot without going 90 then I don't need to be in that predicament. My .02 worth

I guess I just don't want to.
I cringed everytime my spread axle combos scrubbed the tires in a sharp turn. You know, I guess the owner or o/o worries about that stuff more.

If your seeing front fenders bashed in on TV's...what type of hitch discussion is the least of your concerns with your fellow camping folks in your area ,)

Holding a CDL with doubles don't hold any credit. Have you seen some of the "professional "drivers that are on the roads now days? It's easier to get a CDL than it is to get a job at Lowes. I have them also. I pull doubles every time I'm towing my RV and I also don't need a slider to put my RV in a tight hole. You can't recover from a 90* back-in so you are going to have to pull up. Without a slider you just might have to do it more than once but it can be done.

I don't have to come to your house to prove you just need more practice.

I use the B&W OEM hitch, in a 6 1/2 ft bed, no slider. I tested to see just how sharp I could turn without hitting the cab. It was really sharp, but when I
looked at my wheels I was shocked, they were splayed so much I thought I broke something. When I straightened up, the wheels went back vertical; whew. If at all possible I will not ever make that sharp of a turn again, it puts tremendous strain on the wheels and axle.

Turbs, Your Cheby has a 6.5' box / non-slider hitch and the Sabre makes great turns with this set up? Wildcat Chris told me that this set would work for me. I've get a Husky 16k hitch bought with my Wildcat, but they think I should get a slider for $500 more. I think NOT!

Like I said come on up and give it a try... you have no idea the layout of the approach, how narrow the street is, how close the 4ft ditches are to the edge of The street, the narrow approach is at the end of my driveway lined with huge oaks and pines, and my ditches next to my drive. Plus how far I have to swing the tail around to miss the trees after the aft axle is in the drive. It seems all your post always correct people and we have no idea what we are doing. If I can back the 29ft trailer, with the spread and the pup I can do something as easy as my personal truck and trailer..
