Should I switch brake controllers or not?

For years I have been towing with an f150 with a Prodigy 2 brake controller. I recently found a low mileage 2005 gmc hd 2500 4x4 and it has a Pilot brake controller. Now as I understand it the Prodigy 2 is proportional while the Pilot is timed. I'm going to be buying a new camper so I am thinking of taking the Prodigy 2 out of the f150 and having the camper dealer remove the Pilot from the gmc and replace it with my Prodigy 2. Good idea or no?

The Prodigy will be a much better unit for towing a travel trailer that is +3,500lbs. Doubt you would notice much improvement with a unit under that...Good luck...

I personally prefer the prodigy over anything I have used in the past...
