Silverado suggestions

I have a half-ton 2010 Silverado with just 53,000 miles. Since retirement I have only used it to tow the camper, which I do monthly year-round on trips of 400 to 500 miles, roundtrip. Of course, I add a few miles to and from points of interest near the campgrounds.

Naturally, it seems like forever between oil changes, and I go by the onboard computer that tells me the remaining engine oil life. I have always gotten the truck serviced when the oil life gets down to about 30 percent remaining. I'm at 49 percent now, and I can't even remember the last time I had the oil changed.

My question for all you mechanically minded people is: Given my fairly unusual pattern of usage with this truck, should I be doing something differently?

Thanks in advance for your input.

Once a year minimum. Or every 5k. For 30 bucks it's cheap insurance

My 2010 250 has just over 40k on it, every sixth month or just before and after a two week trip every year.

Cheap, no but I do feel better.
