Question Slider Woes...any ideas?

Just got into a different parking situation where I really need to invoke my slider. I have a Reese basic rectangular slider, 16K and pin weight hovers around 3000#. It's just a few months old. I could not slide recently so when RV was disconnected I lubed all surfaces and got the hitch to manually slide (no load) quite easily (although it was a bear to "break loose" the first time). Now, a couple weeks later when I'm trying to use the slider (under load) it ain't going anywhere! I tried several times, with handle in different locations (trying to find the sweet spot if necessary) without any luck. I have not brought it to the dealers attention yet but unless I can get this thing working he's going to have a "slightly used" hitch on his hands. Any suggestions on how to improve performance? Yes, I have searched and found a couple threads but nothing real current or specific.

I have heard some say that you might need to lower your landing gear to take some of the pressure off the hitch. I have no first hand experience as I have yet to use my Reese slider but thought I'd throw that out there for you.

Thanks but I cant do that. I have the hydraulic leveling system and the last thing I want to do is take the chance that the units would lurch and bend/destroy the front pads! I have heard that this can happen and it would be incredibly expensive! Hitch is SUPPOSED to slide with full load...or so I understand. Regards.

With the handle switched to the maneuver position, try backing up first with the camper's brakes on before you try to pull the truck ahead. That may help to align the hitch straighter on the rails so the slider doesn't bind.

Thanks Dave. I'll def give that one a shot. I have read where a misalignment can cause binding. I'll let you know how that one goes! BTW, why do I feel like I've known you quite a long time? LOL. Seriously, thanks. Will advise.

Tried per your instructions. Worked first time...but sure scared the Hell out of me...little noisy and it's the first time I did that! Everything went well. Thanks, again!
