Don't the majority of vehicles have a relay that connects the 12V "hot" wire only when the key is on? You shouldn't be able to drain the truck battery meaning there is no need to disconnect the 7 pin trailer plug.
Newer Fords, with the OEM Tow Package, have a relay that cuts the power to the trailer when you turn off the ignition. Those who don't have the OEM Tow Package may not have a disconnect relay. It all depends who did the wiring.
For overnighters we do not disconnect from the TV. No one has said anything about that yet...
