SUV WDH setup

I was feeling like the trailer is riding low. How do figure this out? Here is a pic.

most accurate is the cat scale to ensure wdh is distributing. you have one close?

t0nado, if just your trailer was riding low, then the ball would need to be raised. But it appears your SUV is also low in back, which may indicate a WDH adjustment might be needed. If that is needed to put more weight on the front TV axle, then the front of the trailer will come up some when that is done, because that will raise the SUV rear end.

As ficksters suggested, a trip to a CAT scale may be needed. A single platform scale can be used (like the local quarry, landfill, etc), but the sectioned CAT scales make life so much easier.

3 trips across the scales give you a lot of info. With everything and everybody in the exact same position each weigh-in, and each TV axle on a separate section, and the trailer axle(s) on another section:

1 trip across with the SUV and trailer with WDH hooked up.

1 trip across with the SUV and trailer without the WDH hooked up.

1 trip across with just the SUV (trailer dropped in the lot somewhere).

I've never done a trip to a CAT scale before, but I have one nearby. What's the protocol? Do you have to call and make an appointment? Do you just drive on it and everything in automated? Is it free? Do I have to talk to anyone when I get there? Lots of questions for this newbie!

No appointment needed.

Here is what I have done:

If the scale is empty, I drive up on the scale with each TV axle and set of trailer axles on a separate section. Press the call button beside the scale.......you might need a broomstick or something to reach that puppy !! The attendant will answer, and I tell them I want to do multiple weigh-ins. After the 1st weigh-in, I pull off the scales, go in and pay for the 1st ($10 ??) and give them any information they need. I then go back out, and do my follow-up weigh-ins. I go back in, pay the additional fees ($1 ea ??) and get my tickets.
