Why would you want to tension one side more than the other?

you wouldnt want to intentionaly do this ...my point it would be easy to mis-count the chain links giving you more tension on one side as a result.

I use a Hensley Cub. I researched many hitches and came to this conclusion.

Most normal towing situations, the E4 or similar hitches will be more than adequate. It is that emergency swerve and or braking situation that concerns me the most. There are many things out of my control that could cause this (ie other drivers and mechanical failures - blown tires) Once the trailer momentum exceeds the friction or cam systems, it is all over. The trailer will become out of control. Good driving may be able to regain control but may not. This is the reason I went with the Hensley. I have heard many people refer to price. I don't know about you but for me I have alot of money already tied up in a trailer and tow vehicle. My level of increased safety and comfort is well worth $1500-$2000 more.

No I didn't have a equalizer. I believe it's Reese wd hitch and sway! For your setup the E4 will work well for you. The friction hitch it works till the force applied to the side of the trailer in greater than the friction. I'm no expert by any means. But when your pushing the weight limit on the truck. Then the hitch is put to the test.
I think the best hitch on the market right now is ProPride 3P. Hensley was running a special on a hitch that fit me perfect for smaller trailers.
I think if your truck is bigger than you need for the trailer. The hitch is not near the factor. In my case the short wheel base made the safer hitch a must for me and my family.
If money is not a problem get the safer hitch. My two cents worth about two cent.

An update on the centerline...earlier in the post I indicated that I was concerned with the pins holding the spring bars in..they looked like they were beginning to sheer off... Sent husky an email Friday am...by 9 got a call letting me know they are sending out new parts. They showed up today via UPS air.

Very happy with their customer service.

One last word on this. Checked with my dealer today, he is a Husky dealer. We're going with the Centerline hitch. He's doing the hitch, battery box and propane for $500, not to bad.

Can you try and get them to throw that stuff in for free. We just bought one and had them include it in the sale. They want to make the deal and of you say, " I'll sign the line now if you throw it in". They will usually do it. It may be too late but for others out there TT shopping, try getting the hitch, propane, and battery thrown in for free.

Go in at the end of the month. Offer less money and U want the hitch and the other odd and ends. U will get the deal.

There are 2 RV shows in Chicago, we bought ours at the first show in January. The price went up almost $1000 at the second show, plus we got a bunch of upgrades thrown in. The hitch, battery box and propane were part of the deal, but the hitch details were never specified at the time. This dealer has been great, i called him asking for the details of the hitch and my concerns. He told me they would do the Centerline hitch for the same money.

I think you will like the Centerlinee Hitch. I would recomend the 800-1200 lb. spring bars with your trailer.
