You most likely need to adjust the hitch properly.
Who set the hitch up for you?
The best way to get it dialed in is to take it to a scale (Cat, Grain silo, scrap yard, etc.) and get several weighs with and without it hooked up. However if you can't get to a scale, you can use measurements to get pretty close.

sway basics

Get instructions, a tape measure, level and right size wrenches, find a level place to make adjustments to hitch, check inflation on front and rear tires of tow truck. Bolts were loose on my hitch.

There is so much already on this site, in this Towing section.
Please do a search.
