Buy two and have one for a spare. Never know when someone might need the one on your kingpin when your not there.

Thats a good idea. I keep loaning mine out to my neighbor when he borrows my 5th wheel hitch.

Yet another vote for the no muss no fuss plate, been using it from day one.
I only spray the lube on moving parts under the head and very lightly at that.

Too much lube can draw and hold dust/dirt.

Been using the plate since day one. Just easier all around. Also use a silicon spray lube on the moving hitch parts. Keep the hitch covered when not hooked up.....

AND just recently had the good fortune to meet a fellow traveller who suggested that of I were to paint the JAWS white, it would be a heck of a lot easier to see that they were closed. So I did and, man, what a difference!!

So no one uses the lube from the truck stop for their 5th wheel? Looks like I'm going to have to order a Teflon plate...

Is that a short bed (less than 8 feet)?

What hitch are you using.

The Pullrite Superglide does not need, or use, a Teflon plate.

"Chucking" with a Superglide is an adjustment of the cam jam nut on the front of the hitch.

Airbags will also reduce bounce which is often confused with "chucking" the forward and aft movement of the hitch pin in the jaws.

Most of the plates I'm looking at online are nylon, not Teflon. Is there a difference?
