Looks like Chevy spanked butt in all but the 136.5 mark.

The only thing we could not verify were the exact weights of the trucks and trailers, but after visually inspecting and noting the compensating sandbag weights in the beds of the trucks where necessary, we're confident that each fifth-wheel camper trailer was comparable with each Chevrolet, Ram and Ford one-ton dualie crew cabs.
According to this Ford added sand bags to make their weights even. LOL! I would be curious to know which trucks had weight added. I know that the Fords are heavy trucks so they probably had to add to the Chevy and Rams to make the weight equal. So I'm going to say that if you own a Chevy or a Ram and you don't ride around with sand bags in your truck then you can't compare it to the Fords.

The 3:73 is a great gear for the D-max Alley combo. I really believe the Cummins would have done better with the 3:42 because the Cummins pulls harder at a slightly lower RPM. It actually loses TQ in it's upper RPMs.

The telling numbers I saw that last time they did a big test were the brake temp numbers at the bottom of the hill. IIRC the Chevy was around 1,200 degrees!
You guys forget how monstrous these things are. Live overseas for a decade and it's a real wake-up call to stand next to one! LOL

The frontal area of the 5th Wheel being pulled by the Ford is different, flawed testing criteria. If they used manufacturers weight I would be suspect of the results as we all know some weights are off. I have no horse in this race as I have been informed by the DW no new truck for 5 or 8 more years.....

The numbers look funny to me the ford hit the hill at 79 ( had that much more power then the ram) and the ram hit it at 71 and half mile later the ford is doing 64 and the ram is doing 65( now the ram has more power it seems). That hard to believe. I think the test has big flaws somewhere.

True and funny story. A friend of mine LOVES Ford...putting it lightly. He named his son Ford and his daughter Shelby. I promise

He bought a new truck...a Dodge. I said "hey. What's up with that?" He said "they are the only one to make a truck to do what this one does."

I just laughed and stood there amazed.
