The Dreaded "Scrunch"

I said it wouldn't happen to me. Hell, I even have a Reese Revolution king pin. I did remove the mechanism last fall to try out a new pin attached bike rack and in my haste to get out for our first outing of the year didn't set up the reese revolution mechanism. And Lo and behold, on my return from camping this weekend and backing into my driveway, I took a little too sharpe turn and heard that awful 'scrunch' sound. I think i'm getting away cheap though with a $400 repair scheduled for next week.

Man that sucks big time. Why did you not have the Revolution working? Once it's set up you're thru' with it.

Last fall I took it off because I wanted to try the bike rack that I attached to the king pin. There was no way the bike rack would work in the RR (reese revolution) setup. I then decided that I didn't want to have my bikes attached to the king pin. I just didn't like that setup. I was intending to put the RR back in operation but figured what damage I could do in one weekend trip. All was well until I made that sharp turn backing into my driveway. Now I know what can be damaged. I was and still am a strong advocate for the Reese Revolution. That will be re-installed this evening.

Consider it a "Character Dent"! At least no one was hurt, and you didn't mention damage to anything else!

And if you reinstall the revolution, and LEAVE the dent, you'll have folks skratching thier heads thinking, "How could that have happened?". May be worth the looks of bewilderement!!
