Glad you enjoy your GM! Looking forward to meeting South at NC rally as well with the Dodge guy from the west! What we have in common is a good TV for our needs.

Wow and the best part is NADA on 2012 truck says the diesel option is worth 8200 over the same gas truck.

I'm a small business owner and there is hundred or ways to make money work for me. I look at money the same way that a carpenter looks as his hammer and nails - you need them to make money and both are just a tools.

In all the years I've had my trucks never had an issue no maintenance besides oil changes every 3000 miles Regular PM does wonders to a vehicle. treat them right they will treat you right.

I don't drive to kill my vehicles and I do take care of them. Doubt if it even comes to a wash. Diesel is a diesel and it does cost more to maintain starting with the oil changes. Yours takes more than mine does

Later RJD

I retired 6 years ago and turn the business over to the kids and still make a nice 6 figure income plus two federal retirements - one mine and one my wife's. I just count the money and offer advice from my easy chair. Income for life...

Since I get paid in dividends and my federal retirement is military I can draw full SS with out any draw down. I don't like fix incomes, I like my income increasing each year by more than couple percent.

I bought my Ram diesel because I wanted it... I'll put as many miles on it as I can... and let my kids worry about the resale value. I never plan on trading trucks again. I retire in about a year.

I bought a 2015 GMC Duramax because I wanted the Allison transmission, not the diesel. It pulls and stops much better then my 2003 Chevy did with the 8.1L gas engine and Allison transmission. Paid $52,000 for the GMC.

You change your oil 3-5 times as much as I do and you say it comes out a wash? No problems with my trucks either.

I bought my TV because I wanted it. Feel much safer with it towing than my 2001 3/4 ton. Paid cash, with trade in. It does what I want it too. I could care less what other people buy/use. Their choice. It's a diesel. Will it pay me back? I really don't care. I get the benefits from it now. Ordered it from the ground up, to our specs. So there, had it, no take backs....does that date me?????

I was thinking the same thing. Lol! I never understand the whole "costs more to maintain" theory. A $26.00 fuel filter once a year? Or is there something else I am missing?

I pay $4.89 for my oil filter and $10.28 for a fuel filter. The oil I use is $7.00 a gallon. My truck holds 3 gallon.
