Just let me clarify something first. I normally run 65-68 when able to run alone are with traffic at that speed. There are times around here on our two lane interstates that traffic runs 75-85 in both lanes and you will have the occasional slow poker that is retired and don't have any place to be but don't have enough respect for the people that still work that are trying to get home to either find a different route or plan not to run in the bumper to bumper traffic in both lanes. So people like me (that will run with traffic to not cause a bigger jamb than already is) have to get out in the hammer lane to get around said people that are sight seeing in rush hour. I know that the tires on the trailer are rated for 65 but the is no guarantee they will blow out above that and the chances of me losing control are even less. (Yes I have had them blow). There is one guarantee though, there are going to be A LOT of people that are driving like maniacs with road rage when you drive 62-65 during these times. I have seen many many wrecks because of people changing lanes right and left trying to get one more car length closer to a slow moving vehicle so they can try their hand at getting around. I will guarantee one more thing too, that 99% of the slow moving vehicles that caused this didn't even know there was a wreck that happen behind them. That's because they are to busy being in there own little world thinking they own the road solely and are looking for 1/2 ton trucks towing 48' toy haulers without WD on P-metric tires that are under inflated so they can get on line and talk about how unsafe they are.
Honestly, when I'm running down the road and I come up behind a rig that looks like they have way more truck than they need running 60-65, I will intentionally speed up and blow by them just hoping some will start one of those "you're not going to believe what I seen" threads. It keeps the forums interesting and I believe it's good on the older peoples hearts to get their blood pumping every now and then.
See ya down the road.
