Thinking of buying 2015 Chevy...
Hello,
I am in the process of buying a 2015 Chevy 3500HD... my friend just finished renting one (out of town) for 2 weeks... he is shopping for a new Chevy too. he tells me that the truck makes a terrible pressure wave inside the cab when the rear windows are down and front windows are up (4-door model).... like a whoop-whoop-whoop kinda sound. if you put the front windows down the noise goes away.
can anyone confirm or deny this claim?
Thanks.
Sam

My chevy truck, tahoe and impala all do it. I think the f250 I use to have did it too.

Not a dog owner- I'm guessing maybe you're asking because you like to roll with the back windows down for the dogs to hang out of???

F350 does it just a little, open the slider and it goes away. It is due to the pressure differences and the fact that these new vehicles are built to not leak air. That is why they are SO QUIET in the cabin. I don't think I have been in a recent model 4 door anything that did not do this.

Every vehicle I have ever owned, or drove when working for Uncle Sam did it at higher speeds and has for as many years as I have driven and that has been a long time.
On my 2013 Silverado, it is not a problem at low speeds, below approx. 35 since I drive around with the rear windows down about half-way for the dogs. When gaining speed, I crack the passenger open about a quarter to a half-inch and the thumping does away.

Like everyone else said, they do make that noise. But there are plenty other reason why you should not buy a Chevy..........

Every car, truck and suv I have owned has made that same sound. It is no worse on my chevy then any other vehicle I have had.

Most four side window vehicles do this. Make sure you get a Chevy with a slider rear window, which unfortunately I could not get on my 2014 GMC, parts problem?
