This 5er with an F150?
Tow Truck:
3.5 Ecoboost, 3.73's, Max Tow, 1820 payload, LT Tires
5'er:
GVWR 8,043
Hitch Weight 1,043
UVW 6,556
CCC 1,487
Exterior Length 25'8"
I realize that these are dry weights not "wet" and optioned.
Cherokee Fifth Wheels / Travel Trailers by Forest River RV
Not interested in discussion about 250's, 350's, diesels. Just is this a reasonably workable combination. It seems workable to me.

Get a dually...kidding...
Close on payload, but seems do-able. Gross weight of the trailer is pretty reasonable and it has great ccc, so you can minimize the cargo weight you put into the truck. Nice looking rig.

I plug in your payload and made some guess - 200 lbs driver 150 lbs passengers 100lbs of other stuff in the truck and in the bed and hitch weight and this is what I come up with.
"You're adding approximately 700 lbs. to the truck. You have 1,120 lbs. of payload capacity. Fifth wheels typically have 20% - 25% pin weight which gives you a maximum loaded camper weight of 4,480 - 5,600 lbs."
Here is the web page I used and the numbers is used.

I believe the Towing Planner is written by member of this forum.

OK, this seems like it is on the edge. I've got 250 lbs in tonneau and side steps. Me, wife, 2 dogs; probably 350. Hitch 250. Other stuff 100. I'm probably below 1,000 lbs remaining. . . . .
Make the trailer weights wet and optioned and I'm probably over payload by 200 to 300 pounds. 10 to 15% overload.
It's amazing how you can eat up that payload.

The problem I had when I tried to stubby pencil weights was FR site showed a dry percentage weight of 19.8 but adding only 1180 lbs my pin weight jump for dry 1950 to 2740 and 24.1 percent. I was working with 2475 payload coming to close for my comfort to my gross axle weights.

Yup, not enough payload in your truck for that 5er. Someone else already did the math so I won't repeat.

Put your choice of some Supersprings or airbags on it, a Hellwig sway bar and you just won't have a problem. At all.
Not even close to a problem.
You could even do it without the bags/springs and the sway bar,IMHO. But why not do it for your own peace of mind.
ETA: 5th wheel hitches sometimes interfere with bags and/or sway bars. Be advised.
But you're not even close to what that bad boy can do

If the truck had the HD package, you would have plenty of payload, but with just the Max Tow pkg, you will probably be over. A lot of it will depend whether you want to be that limited.
We towed our 5'er with our F-150 EB Crew Cab and it was wonderful, but we had both MaxTow and HD pkg on ours.

Please don't make a post like that.
It is unfounded and nothing to back it up.
By the numbers only, all we can say, is that he will be over on payload. That's it... The rest is speculation and whatever makes you sleep better at night.

It adds upgraded springs, wheels, and I believe axles that could all be bolt on aftermarket. The problem is that it also includes updated frame to handle the additional payload of the HD package so springs that claim to add additional 1000lbs probably not a good idea.

About 400 pounds. Maybe 500. Depends on configuration.

AT 2162 it would put you closer to being able to pull the 5er he wants just not full loaded. From the tow guide using the same numbers.
You're adding approximately 700 lbs. to the truck. You have 1,462 lbs. of payload capacity. Fifth wheels typically have 20% - 25% pin weight which gives you a maximum loaded camper weight of 5,848 - 7,310 lbs.

you need to add weight of 5th wheel hitch to payload calculations. That, along with 2 people in truck, and dry empty 5th wheel puts you at or over payload. No room for anything in 5th wheel. As far as air springs. NO, NO and NO. They do not add payload capacity.

The Cherokee 235B is a lightweight 1-slide 5er (6,500 empty) & I'm sure they advertise it as "1/2 ton towable"... However, its (empty) pin weight of 1,043 will quickly reach 1,500+ once the OP adds battery, full propane, gear in the basement/pass-through storage, clothes in the front master closets, etc.
In comparison, our roomier 2-slide TT (6,500 empty) has an empty tongue weight of only 650. With Equalizer 4 WDH, pass-through storage, under-bed storage, and closets totally FULL, our ready-to-camp tongue weight is around 1,250. However, we could move our comfy (heavy) camping chairs from under the master bed to the rear of the TT to quickly reduce the tongue weight to 1,100.
IMO a LOADED tongue weight of 1,100 is totally doable for the OP's F150 EB (non-HD)... That would give him 720 for passengers & tools in the TV.
In our litigious society I would not purposefully put-together a TV/TT combo that is overloaded from day one... IMO it would be easy for an ambulance-chasing lawyer to simply use the stickers on the TV/TT to show that you were over payload & that this overloaded condition lead to the serious injury/death of their client... (A jury won't care that GCVW is more important than payload for stopping distances, etc. they will just see that you were knowingly operating overloaded...)

I think he's already got E load range tires, right?
Springs? No biggie. Just add air bags or a superspring (look out for that 5th wheel hitch). Two capabilities of superspring for the F-150. One stouter than the other.
I, being of the 'more is better' crowd, have the heavier ones and don't notice a bit of difference in ride. Neither does the DW.
Put them on myself. I could do it again in about ten minutes. All you need is a socket and 6" C-clamp. Initially, read the directions, pay attention to spacing.
Axles? It's a Ford. It's got a 9-3/4" rear end. The axles on that thing are already strong as grandma's breath. Stout. Compare favorably to the Dana 60..... Some say even better
Yeah, one model has 6-lug wheels and another has 7-lug wheels. Not sure if that's for the axles or for the wheels. If he's already got the 7 lug wheels, I'm not aware a bigger axle than a 7-lug. But....... There's a lot of things I'm not aware of. And the 6-lug is stout.
Look guys, with the utmost respect...... It requires no brains at all to tell someone to run out and buy a $65,000 Truck to pull a $30k Trailer. None. And I can't speak for the OP, but I don't have that kind of money. Those of you that do? Good on you.
To the OP: Why not consider a pull behind? You can easily go up to a 30' box and a 10,000lb GVW Trailer with that beast you've got to pull with.
Gotta remember, most 1/2 tons are specced from the factory to put ride quality over towing/hauling. But with some judicious upgrades, they can, IMHO, become very good tow vehicles.
Just my $.02

That is the exact 5th wheel I would buy. I have a Tundra and wouldn't even think twice about hooking up to it. I am an experienced when it comes to towing and I know my truck can handle it. As could yours.
